Research shows that percentages have raised in certain scenarios in the black family, for example: In 1950, 17% of African children lived in a home with no father. In 2010 that percent raised to 50%. Also the percent of African women living with their husbands was at 53% in 1950. In 2010 studies showed that that percentage dropped to 25%. These studies show that the life of a African-American is getting worse each year. African-Americans are underestimated nowadays, they have the capabilities to do many great things, the thing is we don’t give them the chance.
The inequality in this country is sickening. According to President Obama “There are very few African American men who haven’t had the experience of being followed or scrutinized when they were shopping at a department store.” When you actually think about it, you realize how many things happen each year in the United States that happen to African-Americans.
This year, 2015, 547 people have been killed by law enforcement. 478 were killed by firearms. The horrific thing is more than 20% of the victims were unarmed. According to Packnett “Black people are being executed more than twice the rate of white, hispanic or latino. Black people killed by police were also significantly more likely to have been
