This served as a great opportunity for many African American women because they were looking for ways to support themselves and establish themselves within their communities. These attractive job offers that appealed to them were not as appealing to their counterparts, which were white women. Many African American made hard decisions and sacrifices in order to make a decent living for themselves by moving to different cities. I find it to be very illogical that African American women were not given the opportunity to work in a respectable environment. Another part that I find to be very unfair is that African American women were not paid appropriately for their work. I know if I was working really hard at my job and I did not receive any benefits such as a raised salary or healthcare benefits, I would be complaining every day to my state government, the Department of Labor and to my boss. Since this was a different social time period, I know that, being an African American man, I would not have been afforded the ability to voice my opinion on my job status without their being violent
