Many birthmothers in the United States and other countries all have a fear of their baby's life and future. Adoption can relieve some of this stress and fear the mother would acquire, by the knowledge that their baby is in good hands. Mothers do not always plan on having a baby, yet alone committing the action of producing the baby. In 1998, 1 out of 6 women had experienced an attempted or committed rape (Rape Statistics). This statistic proves that not all women are trying to have a baby. Adopting the child will give the mother peace and will give her the opportunity to continue to live on without the guilt of an abortion lurking in her mind.
