There are quite a few of Adler’s thoughts that I believe are closely related to the Bible. All throughout the Bible, it states how we were created to help one another and we all have a purpose. In Romans 12:2, it tells us that we should “be transformed by the renewing of our minds”. Adler brings to light and gives an understanding that we can harm ourselves by having broken understanding. This approach, however, believes that a person’s behavior is goal oriented and goal driven. This can be compared to how the enemy can destroy our lives. I have mixed feelings when it comes to the Adlerian Approach. It is hard for me to overcome my feelings of inferiority. I was always raised to be humble and I have associated superiority with arrogance. Which I know that is not true. God wants us to grow in His Word daily and continue to mature as Christians. I think the feelings of inferiority I have are related to how I perceive myself. I have never thought of myself as a successful person or someone that could make a difference. However, the following verses are proof that God wants us to grow in grace and wisdom. 2 Peter 3:18, “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity.
