L-Asparaginase is a type of enzyme that is used to treat ALL, Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia, by injecting it as a chemotherapy drug. Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia is a type of bone marrow and blood cancer, which occurs commonly in an individual's childhood, but may possibly occur in adults as well. ALL (Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia) occurs when abnormal cells grow out of control, most likely an increase of immature white blood cells. These white blood cells are called lymphocytes, and the Leukemia acts on this. Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia occurs commonly in children, however, when treated well, there is a higher chance for cure for the child.
