Abortion is one of the most highly arguable and controversial topic. It is an ethical issue that has been discussed and debated for decades. Abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy (citation). Those who defend and stand for abortion are the Pro-Choice group. Pro Choice believe abortion is rightfully a woman 's choice on what she chooses to do with her body. In people‚Äôs daily personal lives, situation will not always be black and white. A state cannot simply pass a law that states that abortion is illegal because there are case by case scenario where abortion may be the best option for women. This theory states that it is right (moral) if it is useful in "bringing about a desirable or good end." Utilitarianism falls into two categories: act utilitarianism and rule utilitarianism. With act utilitarianism, there are no absolute rules against killing or taking another 's life because the theory is based on the ideas that every situation is different and every person is different. The person involved in the situation decides whether the act that they are going to do is the right thing to do in the current situation at that time. This can theory can be applied to abortion. Bringing a baby into this world can be a joyous moment for any expecting mother. Abortion is not premeditated or preplanned, it 's a circumstantial and at the moment decided action. A woman chooses to get an abortion based on her situation at the moment. Not everyone may agree with the woman 's choice to get an abortion but with the utilitarianism theory this choice should be based on the greater good of the outcome that involves everyone such as the mother and father of the expected child or any other person involved closely with this situation. The utilitarianism theory would consider the parents involved, doctor and fetus, and the outcome of abortion to those involved. Third parties or strangers are not involved in the decision of this abortion because they are not closely impacted to this
