Abortions are most commonly done by doctors in a hospital with the proper training and equipment. But for people in places where it is not legal, women might get an illegal abortion with people that do not have the proper training or equipment. This may lead to unnecessary deaths of women. “The World Health Organization estimates that worldwide 110,000 women die and six times as many are damaged every year from badly performed illegal abortions” (“Abortion”). The article explains how damaging illegal abortions can be, an estimated 110,000 die of illegal abortions and 660,000 are damaged each year. If abortion was legal worldwide then this would be much less of a problem. People may want an abortion for many different reasons, like not being prepared, money can be another problem, not having time or resources to take care of a baby. Especially in rape cases women may want to abort the rapist’s baby because it reminds them of the horrible act that happened. That is a completely understandable reason to get an abortion. Many undesired pregnancies may lead to economic deprivation and an on-going cycle of poverty and despair. Groups identifying themselves as “pro-choice” defend a woman 's right to have control over her own body. Abortion should be a legal option for women because it’s the woman’s body, she might not be able to support the baby and because it is better to abort than to raise a child unloved, mistreated or even

There are many different reasons why people are against this procedure; some believe that it is morally wrong and believe that life begins at conception, thus meaning abortion would be the killing of an innocent child, however the most troublesome issue that anti-abortionists see with the procedure is that at twenty weeks the spinal cord and nervous system has been developed; meaning, the fetus can feel everything that is being done. And abortion is not a gentle procedure on the fetus, after nine weeks when the abortion pill, which causes the mother to have a miscarriage, stops working surgical procedures are the only way a woman can get an abortion. There are numerous ways that this can be done, and some have even been outlawed in the United States because they were deemed to be too cruel. Nonetheless the procedures that are legal are still troubling and painful to the fetus if done at twenty weeks of pregnancy. For example one doctor says that “An unborn baby at 20 weeks gestation is fully capable of experiencing pain.…
