Stereotypes arise the need to generalize and make sense of a complicated environment, it allows people to give out labels easily to form expectations and a predictable life. Stereotypes simplify and organize into categories .With the social groups doing what they’re supposed to do, the world can be so much more productive and efficient. Even though some social groups are better in some abilities than others, we can not change who we are with what we’re given.

Status is defined as the standing of one, and their social or professional positions. Classes are a set or category of things that have properties or attributes in common. They are usually divided into three classes, upper, middle, and low, and they are differentiated from each other by the quality. Status and class of an individual, are obviously determined by their race, gender, or age. Standards vary by different social groups. It’s common sense that girly girls wear pink and skirts, tomboys wear pants. Suit and ties represent preppy, hoodies represent criminals. Nerds do not have any fashion sense, they often wear glasses. There is no way we can argue that how we dress does not correspond to our characteristics. They are our personalities, things we do, and how we act. With that, we can quickly make judgements and a decision on how to respond to them. Who cares about their feelings, efficiency is our priority.
Giving labels to people in different social groups limits an individual’s performance, and their abilities to reach their best. Bad stereotyping towards to a social group would damage their characters by causing low expectations, low motivations, and self-doubts. Where these factors can contribute to bad outcomes. A good stereotype of a social group sets a high expectation, that might not be a quality of an individual. And that can also lead to low self-esteem. A simple solution to that is to stop stereotyping.
But then again, looking at the reality, how can these statements be possibly correct. It’s missing the logical side of the simplicity. We are who we are by the social groups we are categorized in.
