Frequently, people build assumptions about individuals very quickly without interacting with them. Having the ability to make a judgment on someone based on their looks or their appearance that they are in can be benefited most of the time. Most of the stereotypes are substandard, However, everyone has the stereotype of appearance and they make a quick judgment that can also be a good thing as bad as it sounds. For example, from recent events that happened in Egypt in this month, at one of the church bombings the gatekeeper at the door made a quick assumption when a man tried to walk through the main entrance of the church. Also, Belluck’s explains in her article how humans form stereotypes. David Amodi, assistant professor of psychology at New York University said “Stereotypes are seen as a necessary mechanism for making sense of information.” (Belluck 2005). To make sense and understand the information that is in front of us, we humans has to categorize this information and that leads to stereotype.
