Are extracted teeth biohazardous?

- Yes.


- but they can be disinfected & no longer considered thus by: 1st scrub w/ detergent & water or put in ultrasonic, then store teeth in bleach w/ water (1:10)

How do you discard extracted teeth & tissue fragments?

- as biohazards waste *or*


- as a sharp

How must contaminated items be shipped to a lab?

- sealed in an impervious container & labeled "tx as infectious material"
