Situations where normal separation may be reduced
In controlled airspace, may be reduced to 500ft provided -

- both aircraft are medium or light
Lower aircraft is VFR or SVFR
Lower aircraft is at or below 4500 feet

Maximum Airspeed below 10,000 feet
