I sat in Marciano Commons with my friend. We began the violation by eating the pasta without asking each other’s permission. Under observation, the students around includes people from different countries due to the languages they spoke. This factor affected the result because their backgrounds differentiated their thoughts on this action. A group of Chinese girls encountered this situation as a social norm because of similar Eastern cultures and religious beliefs. On the other hand, one of the white domestic students had observe the violation as an infringement from his facial reactions. Normally, in Western cultures food is distributed equally to everyone. Therefore, people will dine the plates they order and without interfering each other. In fact, dining hall may not be a decent option to do this observational experiment. Inside the restaurant, the majority of people are Asians or Asian Americans. However, there are still people from distinct countries. Eastern cuisine was often made to share with a group of people.
