Genre and Career
Linkin Park’s specific genre varies from alternative rock, nu-metal, rap rock and a mixture of electronica that creates those unique sounds in their music. Their career started in 1996when band members Rob Bourdon, Brad Delson, and Mike Shinoda attended the same high school in California. After their high school graduation is when their band lineup was completed by picking up 3 more members which included Dave Farrell, Joe Hahn and their temporary lead singer at the time Mark Wakefield. It wasn’t long before their temporary lead singer left the band and future lead vocalist of the band Chester Bennington would join soon after. He mentions on an interview and says this, “Linkin Park was like my favorite band ever, and that’s why I started playing guitar. And I just wanted to learn all their songs. I liked it because it was the heaviest thing I heard. And if you think about it, it’s because that’s the heaviest thing the radio played at that time.”
Discography and Interesting Facts
Starting off with their most successful album Hybrid Theory, the most important songs on that album include “In the End”, “Crawling”, and “One Step Closer”. Their following album Meteora included singles such as “Somewhere I Belong”, “Breaking the Habit”, “Faint”, and “Numb”. By 2006 they released their 3rd studio album Minutes to Midnight, which included popular singles such as “Bleed it Out”, “Shadow of the Day”, “Given Up”, and “Leave Out All the Rest”. It wasn’t long till they released their 4th album in 2008, A Thousand Suns. Its singles were “The Catalyst”, “Waiting for the End” and “Blackout”. Not soon after their 5th album hit by 2012 called Living Things and had singles such as “Burn it down”, “Lies Greed Misery”, “Powerless”, and “Castle of Glass”.
