The African American women in this movie were portrayed as floozies and sex objects. Women who sleep around and allow themselves to be mistreated by men. Ms.Parker is the neighborhood eye candy. She’s that lady that men sexually fantasize about. Craig and Smokey enjoy watching her water the plants in the morning wearing her shorts and tight crop top with her huge partially wet breasts nearly popping out. “Hi boys”, she says to them in an alluring tone. A fantastic sight to see for the male spectators of the neighborhood. More mesmerising than the sunrise on a beautiful morning in Los Angeles. Sadly, Ms. Parker is already spoken for because she is married to a midget for some odd reason. This however, didn’t stop her from seeking a lustful experience with other men. Ms. Parker ends up having an affair with Pastor Clever while her husband is gone. Joi is the next character that is a wrong depiction of African American women. She is Craig’s unbearable and jealous girlfriend. She has blond braids, long 3 inch nails, and she is incredibly sassy. Black people are known for being sassy, but this was overly exaggerated. Joi would always accuse Craig of cheating and threatening to beat up the girl he’s supposedly having an affair with. She only appears a few times in the film, but every time she does, the song ”Hoochie Momma” by 2 Live Crew starts playing. It’s so obvious that stereotyping was the director’s goal. The movie was a comedy and stereotypes are hilarious even though they did African American’s wrong in the movie. I agree that black people do engage in that sort of activity and it’s probably what would be expected in the ghetto. I’m not sure, I haven’t lived there, but I do believe it was an over exaggeration. There has to be more positivity in the black community than what was shown on Friday. Black people are much more than stoners, criminals, and sluts and they’ve proven that throughout
