A lot of people in America don’t have the best health. Some do, some don’t. But why are some people not as healthy as others? Well it’s mainly the food people eat, and that’s why putting a tax on unhealthy foods might help this situation of obesity in America go down. Putting a higher price on unhealthy foods might change people’s minds to just buy the right stuff. I mean seriously who wants to pay $7 a soda? Probably not very many people. This just might help obesity rates go down in America.

If we do put a junk food tax on unhealthy foods this line will probably go down. The money from the tax would help fight obesity problems. Such as if someone had a heart attack, doctors may be able to save someone quicker because new and advanced technology used from the money that comes from the tax. In the text from a health consultant in Nevada it says “obesity causes a greater risks heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and angina”. One of these things happens to thousands of people every year, and the main source behind it is junk food.
Second, if the government puts a tax on unhealthy foods fast food restaurants will probably be encouraged to serve healthier foods. If the tax is put in place, then the food there would be priced higher and no one would want to buy it. Therefore, they might go bankrupt which we don’t want. A lot of people get fast food especially on road trips. This is perfect because you can eat healthy and get food on the run! And that doesn’t specifically changes the food, it just means to maybe try and find a version with less calories and
