Some are caused by more obvious reasons such as severe cases of the previously mentioned diseases or drunk driving. In fact in 2009 one in every three liver transplants was going to someone who had destroyed theirs by drinking. Sadly, those are not the only reasons. Around 97 000 people between the ages of eighteen to twenty-four report alcohol related sexual assault or date rape each year. If you’re walking home at night and drunk, it is extremely easy for you to be physically or sexually assaulted. If you’re drunk and, because of your impaired judgement, drive home, you could possibly kill yourself or any pedestrian you pass. Not only can you be harmed by accident, but many are on purpose. As I stated before, drinking can lead to depression which can in turn lead to self-harm and suicide. 75 000 suicides per year have something to do with alcohol. With so many deaths every year you really need to ask, is it worth it just to get ‘boozed
