I always wanted a positive life so finding an outstanding school was a priority for me. I began my research, with “the top business school for finance undergraduates.” The McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University emerged as the best choice for me. For many years, I had an interest in math in which I chose finance.…

Having a degree from a college or a university would help a person get a good job. Going to college to get an education, having money, can make their life better. People attend college to keep in mind that they are doing this to get a better job and to walk down that aisle. Why go to College ? Why do you need college to be successful ? Why is college so expensive ? These type of ideas about college have haunted me for so long and for a long time I fought a mental battle between going to college and not going. I dreaded the idea of going to college and thought that I didn't need it.…
Applying to college as a transfer student is something I never would have thought was a possibility if one we to ask my high school freshman self. That is because I never would have been able to identify the potential positive outcomes that arise from going to a community college and then attempting to transfer out to a four year. Transferring has allowed me to become a much more competitive applicant than I would’ve been as a freshman applicant. In turn this has allowed me to consider more prestigious universities throughout the application process. Another major factor in my decision to transfer is that I have immigrant parents who have to get three kids through college.…
A reason I want to go to college is so I can get the necessary skills to join whatever career field I may want to work in when I’m older. College is the perfect opportunity to learn whatever you want, or whatever you may need to for work. If someone wants to work in forensics they have to go to college, but if someone wants to work at McDonalds they don’t. This is why college is important.…
Well, honestly believe it or not the main reason is because I love to learn. Since I was a little kid I always wanted to expand my knowledge so I could jump into any type of conversation and express my opinion, therefore books and encyclopedias were my best friends. But besides personal satisfaction and becoming well educated there is also a second reason for me to go to college and that is to acquire the necessary knowledge to find a good job and be financially successful in life. Having a degree I think is really the only way to move up, I have seen very knowledgeable people get stuck and not being able to climb the corporate ladder just because they do not have a degree. College is definitely the place to achieve personal goals as well as…
Having had to deal with a lot of turmoil in my life, especially within the last 6 years, with my parents passing within 18 months of each other. I recently decided to take my life back. College classes are a giant leap forward. I have my short paper, in a draft form started. I took a look inside myself to remember “what I wanted to do/be when I grew up?”…
Why I will be Attending College College betters you as a person and allows you to pursue your dreams. Though everyone has different passions, there is a degree and program to fit everyone 's needs. I will be attending college, because I would like to full heartedly follow what I love. Everyone has different reasons for wanting or even not wanting to go to college but for me, I want a better opportunity at getting hired, gain more knowledge about the field, and follow God’s plan for my life.…
In one of my earliest memories, a very young me is curled up next to a tiny, plastic bookshelf with an elementary paperback between my hands. Sitting in a room with the door locked from the outside, this was not the first time I had been grounded. However, it was the first time I had found enough peace within myself to settle in one place rather than wage war against the very walls that contained me, and the reason for this was clear: learning has always served as a grounding force for me. Ever since I first spoke the word “college”, my mouth has been abuzz with the remnants of its echoes. In elementary school, I wore my straight A’s like gold stars while I daydreamed about a school I could live in.…
My existence has been a roller coaster of up 's and down 's, questions of whether I should be the intelligent and conservative daughter my mother expects me to be. As a result, for the longest time I 've wanted to please and live up to my family 's expectations. Even though, I get harshly reprimanded often. Which tends to depress and improve my studies depending on the situation, Eventually I had mustered enough courage and gathered weeks worth of information to back up my desire to go overseas for college. Although I wasn’t sure how to tell my family the plan I had thought out for college, so i started small and decided to tell my parents first to gauge how they would react, and then I would break the news to the rest of the family.…
Growing up in a country with a limited amount of opportunities, my parents wanted me to have a better life, with a brighter future. That’s why they took the decision to leave it all behind , in Cuba and come here. Ever since then, I have always been told, you need to study in order to succeed in life. It was hard, I admit it ,but it was not impossible. Learning a new language, wasn’t what I hoped it would be; but now I am proud to say that know I can speak 3 languages English, Spanish , and French; I‘m also planning to learn Korean somehow.…
I’ll admit that coming from an Indian background, I did feel that there were expectations for me to choose a career in the science field. I applied for college as a mathematics major because I knew I was good at it, but thought it would be too boring for me so I switched to business. Halfway through the summer before freshman year, I decided I wanted to become a journalism major because business seemed too rigid too. The moment I signed off on the major declaration form, anxiety swept over me and I questioned whether I made the right decision.…
