“An intrusive memory was defined as a memory opposite that of the valence that they were instructed to remember” (Grim, Kolts, Watkins). People who have awful memories are more likely to not be able to control their emotions and remember bad events from their past. The creature in “Frankenstein” had multiple appalling experiences while wandering throughout different villages; which cause terrible memories for the creature. The creature Frankenstein had built was a nice monster who was confused and did not know how to communicate with people. “ One of the best of these I entered, but I hardly placed my foot within the door, before the children shrieked, and one of the women fainted.
