To Build a Fire
In Jack London’s “To Build a Fire” we find the disastrous story of a man who becomes a casualty of the unyielding and unforgiving power of Alaska’s environment. Mirroring life as some people experience it, this realistic fiction includes the daily challenges and tribulations of being human. Throughout the novel, Jack London builds irony through the main character, that adds to the realism. "To Build a Fire" is a short story that embodies the idea of naturalism and realism and how, if you are not careful, nature will gain the upper hand and you might succumb.
