(I am very glad that we had a whole week to discuss these issues). As a citizen, I want to be more aware of who I am who and who is around me. I want to make sure that I am not teaching others racist ways. I want to be aware of what I stand for and what those around me stand for. I need to remember to do my own research and never believe everything to be at face value. As a teacher, I think my job will be hard. I am still not sure how to (perfectly) navigate these issues, but I do feel better about it. I need keep learning and always be open-minded. I want to teach about how differences are what makes everyone special and how everyone is different. I want to make sure that I teach at a school that is willing to advance American and not hold America back in the views that have harmed so many people. As an advocate, I want to know. The main thing I want to do is know more about racism, African-American culture, and America’s history. I want to be able to point out to people when they should think twice about their actions. I want to be able to have mature conversations about the issues that are present in America. Due to the history of America, many people have experienced wrongdoings and have received the short end of the stick. I am very glad that we had a whole week to discuss these issues. I think racism deserves more than a week, and I can change that by how I teach in a classroom. Also, by who I am as a person, I can help those around me. I think it is important to never let racism pass me
