Now on a more personal point of view, I think that culture is something you can be proud of, because it as been developed and you aquire it with great effort. And it is why I disagree when Dyer talk about the omnipresence of the white in visual culture, because the western european, the “white” culture was always very centered on visual representation, whereas northern African and eastern Asian culture were based on technological development, and southern African, native American and Australian culture were based on an oral culture, and their relashionship with nature. It is why to me there is that “omnipresence” of the white in visual culture. What I agree with, is that when the author color is mentioned in visual art, it is unfair for the author work as it is a personal point of view and not always a reflection of his culture or cultural
