What do you think it means to be demonically possessed? Or to have schizophrenia? These two ¨illnesses¨ are in fact very closely related, whether you believe it or not. Though often considered a severe mental disorder, schizophrenia can be explained as an instance of demonic possession because both issues share some of the same symptoms.
What is a mental illness? Easily explained, it 's an illness of the brain or a disorder if you will. Schizophrenia is one of the most well known mental illnesses there is. Schizophrenia is a disorder that causes people to treat reality abnormally. It is obtained by genetics, most of the time. Sometimes people develop a mental problem because of a problem in the past. Their moral responsibility is challenged and mentally ill people do not exhibit traits of moral responsibility. Some of the other symptoms include; hallucinations, delusions, disorganized speech and emotional flatness or lack of emotions. Four out of ten hospital beds are taken by people with schizophrenia. Most of these symptoms are shared with the other illness. A spiritual illness. Demonic possession.
Demonic possession attacks many people. It is certainly possible that some demon-possessed people have been misdiagnosed as mentally ill and have been placed in institutions. Two thousand people with schizophrenia have been overlooked by the ministry. How are religious figures and psychiatrists supposed to understand a problem if it will not be addressed? In an article…
