This chapter talks about the discovery of ultraviolet light, infrared light, and other forms of light not visible to the human eye. Within this chapter it also talks about Heinrich Hertz and how he “had shown that the only real difference among the various kinds of light is the frequency of the waves in each band” ( pg 65). As we know, Hertz is the unit used for frequency, rather known as ‘waves per second’. Although we talked about Hz a lot during unit ten, it was interesting to see the formation of Hz/the background behind it. Hertz was the first one to recognize that there was such a thing as the electromagnetic spectrum, while astrophysicists were still behind. I also found this interesting as well. Our technology was not advanced enough to look at these invisible waves, so we had to create something that would work. This is how our first telescope came to
