Verizon Vs Verizon

My friend just purchased the new iPhone 7 and needs to choose a phone carrier. There are two plans to choose from, Verizon and AT&T. I had to figure out which plan would be better, (cheaper), to recommend to my friend. AT&T offered a plan with a $.20 per text charge and a $15 initiation fee, while Verizon offered a plan with a $.10 per text message fee and a $70 initiation fee. I found, by comparing the two plans algebraically, that AT&T would be better if my friend is planning on sending less than 550 texts per month, and Verizon would be better if they are planning on sending more than 550 texts.

My plan was to create two equations, one for each payment plan. Then I used the substitution method to find the point of intersection which showed where both plans would cost my friend the same. Lastly, I used the graphing method to determine which plan was better depending on the number of texts sent.

To create my two equations, I used the combination of costs given by each company. The two equations that I derived from the problem were:
Verizon: y =.10x + 70
AT&T: y =.20x + 15 x: Number of texts per month y: Total monthly cost of service
Then I used the

I then graphed the system of equations to determine which plan would be better based on how many texts my friend is going to send.

In order to provide my friend with the optimal plan I would need to know, of course, how many texts she generally makes in a month. I can, however, provide her with guidelines based on the findings above. Due to the lower activation fee, AT&T is cheaper provided my friend does not text more than 550 times a month. Also, since each Verizon text is cheaper by 10 cents, if my friend texts over 550 messages a month, then Verizon is the plan to choose. In this problem I learned how important it is to use information to make a smart decision concerning my

While she does not say what the questions were she does talk about their results: she found that those who owned cell phones with text capability (not those who necessarily used it, just had it) had more grammatical errors such as “leaving apostrophes out of contractions”, using “r” instead of “are”, and providing shorter answers than those whose cell phones did not have texting capabilities. While she does talk a lot about grammar she does not mention how the content of the answers of those who had texting capabilities compared to those without; and while those with text capability provided shorter answers than those without you don’t know whether that was bad or not, as it is possible to have a 100 page paper be barely F- quality while a two page paper on the same subject is A+…

In this study you’ll find that a lot of what was researched, favored Verizon. This video caught so much attention that it actually prompted marketing departments from other carriers to make a fact checking commercial, or a response commercial to Verizon’s. In T-Mobiles response video they point out that Verizon funneled millions of dollars into this ‘independent study’ and used data that was over a year old. It does turn out that T-Mobile has upgraded their network significantly in the last year to compete with the ‘Big 4’ which include Sprint, AT&T, Verizon, and itself. So the RootMetrics study might not be reflective of their current standing.…

Though this option has the lowest interest rate and monthly payment, the length in the years is the highest out of all the loans, so this chocie was elmiated. Also, actual cost of the vehicle after loan is paid is decent since it is the thrid lowest and highest of out of all the choices. Option number 2 has an interest rate of 7.5%, a time period of 3 years, a down payment of $2,500, a monthly payment of $794.23, and an overall cost of $28,592.19. Texting Verses Phone Calling When Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone, he certainly didn't expect that decades later humanity would rather return to sending written messages. That is what has happened however, in the past few years; sending text messages rather than calling has quickly become the most accepted form of communication for humans. This rise in texting over phoning is due to a plethora of reasons, but no matter the cause, it is safe to say that texting is a much better way of communicating than calling.
