The Barrow Gang The 1930’s were a time of hope, despair and vulnerability for the United States. The Great Depression destroyed the American economy and left millions of people without money, homes, or food. American people deserted their foreclosed homes and found themselves living in Hoovervilles, which were shanty insufficient neighborhoods built in the suburbs of big cities. Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the two most recognized members of The Barrow Gang, took advantage of the tanking economy by stealing cars, kidnapping children, robbing banks, and killing a total of thirteen people.…

There are many decades that I have thought about being a fly on the way, the 1950’s is one of that eras. I might have even dreamed of being a part of the “Happy Days” of our nation’s history. The purpose of this research paper is to compare and evaluate youth subcultures between Britain and the United States in the 1950’s. At the time, a post-war economic shift resulted in the manifestation of many subcultures. Thanks to an expanding market of consumerism and a decline in post-war rationing after World War II, young people had the money to spend on fashion and entertainment. The two main subcultures we will analyze in this report are the Teddy boys of Britain, and the “punks” of American society. In the past, New Balance has fallen out of the spotlight in the athletic equipment world. The common idea that has overtaken most consumers is that New Balance is an unfashionable brand that is predominately made for the older generation, in other words, a “dad shoe.” The goal of this campaign is to rebuild the image of New Balance and to use the college market in doing so. Primary research methods such as interviews and surveys have been a useful tool in finding out why New Balance has fallen out of the limelight over the past few years.
