I believe securing its financial interests was a great motivation for Canadians during the US-Canadian magazine dispute. Although 89% of all magazines sold in Canada are foreign, they do need to account for Canadian journalists and magazine companies. Magazines seem to be a way to express or detail a certain area of interest. For example, a car magazine would have information and photos relevant to the automotive industry where as a fashion magazine would focus on the latest trends and styles in fashion. These can vary from country to country and thus create a variety of markets around the world. Canadian consumers may be interested in knowing about cars, fashion, or even celebrities from other parts of the world rather than in their own country. This may be because they can see Canadian culture in many other resources around them. Considering this, I do think it would be fair to allow Canadian consumers to be able to decide what their purchasing habits should
