The unit number 2 of the nuclear power plant in Three Mile Island, located near the city of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, suffered a serious accident on March 28, 1979. A small leak in the steam generator triggered the worst nuclear accident in history of the USA, and the second worst in the history of nuclear power.
