'The Short Story The Veldt'

For the past few years you have lived in a house full of all new types of technology that does everything for you. You start to forget about your family and like the technology more than them because it does everything for you. Then your parents decide to move out of the house with all the technology into a different one. Then you are so mad you kill them not caring. The technology has taken over your life and has become more important to you than your own family and is the most important thing in your life. In the story “The Veldt” it shows these things a lot throughout the story. This shows you can’t let technology take over your life because bad things could possibly happen to people around you or yourself.
In this story the technology in their house was doing everything for the children and they didn’t think about their parents much anymore. In this story the family was eating and they were at the table when they realized they had forgot the ketchup. Then the ketchup came up in the middle of the table. This is one piece of evidence which shows that the technology was doing everything for them. The children forgot how to do things and may never learn how to do other things if the technology keeps doing everything for them. Certainly it could be said that all the technology would not cause problems but be better. While this is a good idea it does not talk about how the technology took over the children’s lives. So they ended up killing their own parents instead of giving up all of the technology in their house and moving into a new house. Since the technology is doing everything for them they end up getting drawn away from their family and like the technology more than their family.
