People considering getting cosmetic surgery should analyze all the risks and dangers of the procedure, and the costs of these procedures. My opinion is that if you 're not getting something serious done, then it isn 't worth it. There are many different risks of cosmetic surgery that you should know about before getting a procedure done. If you have any diseases or issues in your health, its better to stay away from unnecessary surgeries "People with a history of cardiovascular disease, lung disease, diabetes or obesity have a higher rate of developing complications" ("Understanding the risks of Plastic Surgery"). Nerve damage can either be temporary or permanent but will still be an issue in your life. Every surgical procedure requires the surgeon to use a scalpel, which can easily cut into the nerve or leave a bruise on it, causing you to feel tingling or numbness in that area of your body for the rest of your life because you 're permanently damaging that nerve. Ending up with an infection after surgery is very possible and something you need to watch out for "Infection at the incision site, which may worsen scarring and require additional surgery" ("Cosmetic Surgery"). After surgery, you are expected to properly clean and take care of your incision because there is a very high chance fluid and bacteria can build up under the incision, causing you to get an infection. If you end up with a very serious infection, you might need additional surgery to help get rid of the bacteria that has been built up inside the wound. There are various different ways you can infect your surgical wound, for example, being around and getting touched by someone who is contaminated, and bacteria in the air. If you decide to get your surgical procedure done at your surgeons private clinic, it will save you alot of more time and money because your surgeon will be able to use his/her own clinic and items. Hospital operating rooms cost a bit more because you 're using the hospitals space. There are different reasons for different procedures and some surgical procedures could be for a legitimate reason than others "Some operations that have a significant functional aspect, may be considered reconstructive rather than cosmetic" ("Average Cost"). An example of this would be if you fall and break your nose in anyway, that surgery would be reconstructive because you 're fixing your nose, not getting it done the way you want it to look. This also relates to people who have been through something traumatic or even cancer patients after they have tried removing a tumour from their body. Cosmetic surgery procedures depend on a lot of things, especially where the procedure is being done on the body "Surgeries performed on the body are the most expensive e.g. lower body lift, tummy tuck, thigh lift, buttock lift" ("Average Cost").
