It often happens in school or in an environment where the bullies might have the chance to pick on the other smaller children and force them to do things that the bullies desire. However, if you think you would not be the target of bullying, you are wrong. As I stated above, any type of bullying is like a time bomb waiting to go off. There are results (real life story) that shows the negative emotions that caused by cyberbullying helps people to realize their mistake through their own guilt, shame and embarrassment which would motivate them to become a better person. According to Lydia Woodyatt, a lecturer from Flinder’s University’s School of Psychology, in her article, “The power of public shaming, for good and for ill”, she explains that cyberbullying (and online shaming) creates good use for people in the society, it makes people to generate negative feelings that push them to make self-evaluation. So, with the push of self-evaluation, cyberbullying causes the victim of cyberbullying to be more responsible for their action and encourage them to face their shame and guilt. For instance, Monica Lewinsky, who is a former White House intern best known for her affair with President Bill Clinton, shows us that not only that she faces her shame, she manages to use these attention from the society that is judging her inapporpriate behavior and turn it into a chance to become an activist who fights against cyberbullying and online shaming. With Lewinsky’s story, she may be able to encourage cyberbullying’s victim to face their guilt and push them to self-evaluate themselves why and how they become a target of
