This is where the start of witch burning happened, people who were following the Old Testament decided they were doing God’s work by killing people they decided were witches, Which turned into mass murders of innocent people.
Several centuries ago, many practicing Christians, and those of other religions, had a strong belief that the Devil could give certain people known as witches the power to harm others in return for their loyalty. A "witchcraft craze" rippled through Europe from the 1300s to the end of the 1600s. Tens of thousands of supposed witches which were mostly women were killed.

People believed that satan gave certain people the power to harm others in return for their loyalty. This is seen in Europe in the fourteenth century. The way of life in the Salem at the time included the effects of the British war with France in the American colonies in 1689. The Salem witch trials happened because of the fear of the people who lived in the town. In January 1692, a group of young girls in Salem Village, Massachusetts started having fits of seizures,and screams. A doctor diagnosed the children as being victims of witchcraft.
