The myth above started with a similar background as the Theogony by Hesoid. The cosmos in both myths are in Chaos at the very beginning until the appearance of world creator who reshaped the world. The special state of the cosmos is also mentioned in many other creation myths such as the Hebrew Bible. In the Hebrew Bible, the early cosmos is described using the word “Tohuwabohu” which means disordered and unsystematic. Also, the world creator Chaos spoke before creating which is similar to the Egyptian mythology. For example, in Memphite mythology, Ptah used speech to create the city Memphis and everything else. However, Ptah used both his heart and tongue to create the world who actually conceived the world intellectually and then crafted it by his own word while Chaos spoke first and then worked on it. Besides, the myth above also used several elements from the Indian mythology. According to Rig Veda, the origin of the world is water and fire while the origin of cosmos in the myth above is a liquid. The difference is that the liquid itself then became the world creator in the myth above while the water and fire drove the birth of creator god in Indian mythology. The myth above also use the term “samsara” which is a quite important concept in Indian mythology.
