Glooskap is said to represent God because he is said to be “good, wise and creative.”(Native American Legend) Glooskap showed his Godly acts through the responses he made when his mother died, by creating good things out of her remains. With this being said, Glooskap shows this act when he made “plants, animals and humans out of the Great Earth Mothers’ remaining,” (Native American Legend) to support the Earth. As a reference to the Bible it states in Genesis 1:26 that God said, “Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness; and let them rule over the seas, skies, and animals all over the earth.” This biblical text is referring back to the border of Glooskap and God. Glooskap is imitating God’s work by creating animals and humans to live on the earth, in order to rule the land.
