There are thousands of different religions. Each has their own belief system and ideas about the afterlife and what it will be like. With all these different ideas out there it brings up the question. Are all of these religions good? Is there just one that is correct or are they all just nonsense made by man to fill a void that atheists are now slowly trying to fill with scientific theories? This paper will give a large portion of each side and some information from debates on the issue. Not all religions are good; some are harmful to progress as a society, but there are a few religions or lack thereof that has helped humanity to grow closer to the peak of our abilities.

Religion is the belief in and worship of a superhuman controlling power, especially a personal God or gods. The existence of a God has always been accepted by almost every people in history until the past couple hundred of years. Every civilization has developed their own religion over time.
