Ronald Wilson Reagan was born on February 6, 1911 in Tampico Illinois Reagan was second son of Nelle Clyde and John Edward Reagan. Nelle Reagan was 28 when she gave birth to Ronald she is of Scottish and English descent she had an active role in church throughout her life. His father John often went by “Jack” he was also 28 when Ronald was born he is of Scottish descent he worked as a salesman and the Reagan family had to move around Illinois due to his job when Ronald was nine the family settled down in Dixon Illinois. He attended Dixon High School he was a part of the football team, and acted in school plays, when he was 15 he found a job as a lifeguard at Lowell Park he worked there for seven years he graduated high school in 1928.
In 1928 Ronald attended a liberal arts college named Eureka where he majored in economics and sociology. During his college years Ronald was a part of many different clubs and teams including the football team, debate club, swim team, a member of a fraternity called Tau Kappa Epsilon, a reporter on the school newspaper, and was the president of the student council. Ronald graduated from Eureka in 1932.
In the same year Ronald found a job in Iowa working for WOC as a sport announcer he worked for the company for two year before he transferred over to WHO where he worked as a sport announcer for the Chicago Cubs he worked as a sport announcer for the cubs until 1937.
