The increase of small businesses in America is at an all-time high. Start-up companies have infiltrated the market and created an influence that cannot be ignored. I admit, I am inspired by the influx of growth within our economy and the creation of jobs for unemployed populations. I myself have gravitated to the positions of leadership and entrepreneurship even at an early age. Growing up, I would go to grade school with a backpack full of sugary treats and sell them during test days so my customers would come to class with something to look forward to. The children would always buy from me even after the price inflated because they had nowhere else to purchase the candy from. My profit margins were high but at 9 years old I didn 't even know what that meant. All I knew was I was making money for a new video game and had the freedom to do what I wanted with my candy business. This idea of planning and executing, gaining followers and being successful was sparked at the age of 9 and since then blossomed into an interest I wanted to further pursue known as business management. I enrolled in City College of New York, where I studied Creative Writing and Journalism. While attending full-time, I was working part-time retail and sales jobs. Working for several fashion corporations introduced me to the importance of organization, teamwork, and operational goals. Working at Forever 21, We had daily sales goals to reach and were given incentives to meet that mark. Our teamwork…
