If I teach my children simple signs such as food, drink, or any other basic commands when they are infants it will help me better understand their wants and needs. It is extremely important that I have good communication with my children because not being able to communicate can cause problems such as frustration and tantrums. Something new that I learned is that when infants learn to sign at a young age they are able to express themselves more (Baby Signs). This improves their overall development and gives them better social communications skills. This concept is important to me because it is essential that all children are able to communicate with their parent. When parents and infants can communicate and understand each other’s needs and wants there will be less crying from the infant and less frustration from the adult.
