About 55,875 sq miles of Iowa land is used for agricultural work! That’s about 90% of Iowa’s land! That means only 10% isn’t used for some sort of agricultural work, that’s a pretty crazy statistic. Along with crop farming comes a huge factor of other work like hog, cattle, and chicken farming. About 28.6% of Americas hogs are in Iowa, that’s 20.6 million hogs just in the state of Iowa! We also have about 3.8 million cows and 52 million chickens! I don’t know about you but that’s a lot of food Iowa is providing to America and that’s just another reason why you should support your local farmers and love Iowa. After a long hard day there is nothing better than an ice cold glass of milk, white or chocolate. You don’t think much of where it came from but, it mostly likely also came from Iowa.
