While the men go out and work to make the money in the family. A lot of women wanted this to change and they wanted to be able to do what the men did. During the declaration this was still a problem and that did not change for a long time. During the depression women were actually needed and they could help out a lot like in the fields and the factories. Men actually asked the women for help they would shout “we need women in here, send women.” (175, Writing the Great Depression) This was a step in the right direction for equality. People realized that women were very helpful and were needed to make things go faster. I feel that it was a step back because people were starting to act like they were better than others. The rich and poor were becoming divided again unlike the camps that the teens participated in. I also believe that it wasn’t because with the help from FDR people were able rise back up and they were all treated the same. I also think that it wasn’t because people weren 't free in the 1920s to do what they wanted. They were treated pretty bad up until the 1930s even then some people still treated blacks, children and women horribly. Mostly rich people that would tell them what to do and because they wanted money they just needed to suck it up and continue with the abuse and work on what they had too. But also a lot of people followed the path of FDR and weren’t rude to people who were different and treated people the same. FDR really helped a lot of families by starting these programs and also he gave families that needed money so their houses couldn’t be taken from them. He was able to save many lives and families. People realized that he was a really good president and reelected him.
