The Great Depression that happened in the 1900’s was a trying time in the United States as well as throughout the whole world. It was shortly after WW1 and countries were still struggling with the cost of the war. This topic matters to me because of what the people went through during that time. I could never imagine being homeless and without any work, and the fact that it all happened so fast. Overnight was how fast their lives changed. I hope with all my heart that it never happens again, although quite a few people are losing or did lose their jobs not so many years ago here in the United States. Maybe the government or somebody could do something that it never happens again.

Why might it matter to the world?
This might affect the world because if one countries economy is struggling it could lead to other countries economies, and they could start to struggle as well. If things get worse, the world could end up in a Great Depression again, which we all want to prevent. I really don’t know how to prevent the economy from crashing, but maybe there is someone in the world that could stop it. Praying about it would be a great help especially for those people who are struggling right now.
Many nations in the whole world have opened their doors for the Syrian refugee people who had to flee their homes. These people matter to the world, and the world is trying to make these people feel safe and provide homes for them. It is a lot of work and sacrifice to take on such a huge project in saving lives and welcoming foreign people into your country, but some countries do it with open hearts and minds willing to make the sacrifices. Some people even sponsor a family so they can come and live in Canada. Canada in one country that is close to us in a way, we go there quite often and we have relatives there. And seeing how they are open to the refugees makes me happy for the refugees. That is at least one family who knows they are safe and well taken care
