I finally got ahold of it and noticed it wasn’t turning on and came to the conclusion that it was dead. Just my luck.
I grabbed my backpack and threw it over my shoulder as I started walking towards the end of the trail. My house wasn’t too far from here, and it was still a bright afternoon, so I didn’t think my dad would get worried. I passed a bus stop where there were more people than usual and everyone seemed to be talking on their phones.
I made it home in one piece and encountered my dog asleep on the patio. I unlocked the door and threw my backpack onto the nearby couch. I was about to sit down when I remembered
I forgot to lock my car. I contemplated going back since it was only about a twentyminute walk but I decided against it since it was only a 2005 Volkswagen Jetta. I had nothing of value in it anyway, besides vanilla scented air freshener.
