This law prohibits a woman to access abortion no matter her objections to the race, sex, or disability, no matter how severe. In response to this absurd bill, an anonymous woman started a Facebook page called “Periods for Pence”. The page was created on March 28th and has nearly 25,000 likes. The page’s goal is to "Let Governor Mike Pence know what you think about his intrusive bill... Women should have the right to make their own medical decisions" (Dicker 1). A post in March goes further into detail and states "any period could potentially be a miscarriage without knowledge" because "fertilized eggs can be expelled during a woman's period without a woman even knowing that she might have had the potential blastocyst in her. Therefore, any period could potentially be a miscarriage without knowledge. I would certainly hate for any of my fellow Hoosier women to be at risk of penalty if they do not "properly dispose" of this or report it (Dicker 1) The post directly calls out Pence and makes an apparent reference to the law’s demands that an aborted or miscarried fetus’ remains’ be cremated or interred. With this post, thousands of women were implored to call Pence and report their periods to him. The Periods for Pence page then posts transcripts of the phone calls made by various women. The transcripts show majority of the people who answered these messages in the office were not pleased with what these women were
