Children’s independence in making decision is a gift from God which enable them to create a decision in a second, in a short term or maybe for a long term. However, that amazing ability have to be practiced in a full awareness of the certain information or knowledge which should be accompanied in that way.
Related to the abstract above, Indonesians children and adolescent have problems for making decision because of the less controling from matures; for example about accidents of unwanted pragnancies in adolescent ages. The possible way to reduce it is through the program named Sex Education. We need a certain curriculum or extracuricular for supporting sex education be taught in school. Or can you imagine that the acceptable of parents towards the birth of their baby have a great effect for the baby sexual habbits and social life in the future? Children and adolescent maybe don’t know about what happen with their sexual habits, or even their parents maybe careless regarding what actually happen with their children. Family and parents have a big responsible to guide and giving attention for their son and daughter in having sexual experiences. However, the condition now is different; parents is too busy and careless to share about sex education. School have to get involved in sharing and introducing sex education with the right information and …show more content…
The country is doing great with its far reaching sex education having one of the most reduced rates of high school pregnancy in the world – 8.1 pregnancies for every 1.000 young ladies aged 16-19. On the contrary, sex education faces opposition in Indonesia because of the conservatives who believe that people will learn about sex naturally and sex is still a taboo for them. The comparison of the rate of teenage pregnancies in Indonesia is still high. More than 32,000 Indonesian women experienced unwanted pregnancies between 2010 and 2014, one of the highest figures among ASEAN countries, based on data from World Health Organization (WHO). Actually, Indonesia can start to reduce the accidents through build the sex education system in school from now. Now, we have the New Curriculum 2013 upgraded from KTSP 2006 as the pedagogical way to improve our education system. The government have to require some space for sex education in the new curriculum. Remember, we never knows what the result if we can’t start it from now, with all of our faith to succeed the programme. That confidence will be a shield of the government to overcome conservative views about sex. Eventually, the cases like an undesirable pregnancy or maybe sexual transmitted disease are important to be alleviated soon with the availability of sex education in
