Everyday someone 's child is being bullied or they are the bully. It has been stated by the American Society for the Positive Care of Children that “about 28 percent of students ages 12-18 reported being bullied during the school year” (“Bullying Statistics and Information” ).This does not even include the percent of children that does not report that they have been bullied. Many children get threatened by the bully not to tell that they are being bullied. According to the U.S government anti bullying website, bullying is defined as “unwanted behavior among school children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance” (“Bullying Definition”).They also say that “the behavior is repeated or has the potential to be repeated over time, both …show more content…
One of the reasons that people get bullied is because they may have some type of disability. Children are likely to bully other children that do not look like them. Children can not help if they were born with a certain disability and some children do not understand that at an early age so they tend to pick on them because they do not look the way that they do or they do not act they same way that other children act.

Being overweight is another cause of someone being bullied, Children are all shapes and sizes but the bigger someone is the more likely that they are of being bullied. They think that everyone should be a certain size and weight and if that person is not then that gives them the opportunity to pick on them. The child may come to school with shoes on that are all torn up or they even might come to school with their clothes all dirty. The bully will bully them because they do not have clothes that are all fancy like theirs are or they do not cost as much as everyone else does. This seems to be the most common way that children are being bullied. Children are more focused on what others wearing.
