Reading literature helps people to broaden their minds and imagination. Edgar Allan Poe is one the most favorite American writers. Some people may think that his stories are very terrific, but each and every story hides a deep meaning. Readers are usually very impressed with the way he presents things, people’s feeling, relationship and friendship. The fact that he lost his mom, when he was two years old, might have influenced his future life and that is why people consider him to be the father of mystery and detective stories.
The story “The Cask of Amontillado” is one of the best works of Edgar Allan Poe. The stories of Edgar Allan Poe always impress the reader and show the professionalism of the author. He gave the readers an uncommon way to think and imagine horror, terror and passion. This story seems to be one of the finest works of Edgar Allan Poe, in which the character has to seek revenge in order to become free.
The author did not mention the name of the city, where all the actions were taking place, but from the description you can tell that it was in a small Italian town. Reading the first lines of the story, it is easy to understand that main character’s anguish and the desire to seek revenge were quite strong.
