Montresor wanted extreme revenge on Fortunato, he wanted him to suffer. As montresor had said in the story “ The thousand injuries of Fortunato i had borne as i best could, but when he ventured upon insult i vowed revenge.”(page 1, Allan Poe) Bringing Fortunato into his home was the plan, luring him with expensive wine. Montresor went to an event wearing a black mask, disguising himself. Confronting Fortunato, he asks if he would like to wine test the Amontillado. Coughing repeatedly, not being able to respond, Montresor says “ We will go back, your health is precious. you are rich, respected, admired, beloved, you are happy, as once i was.”(page 2, Allan Poe) Telling him he had Luchresi instead to tastes the expensive wine. Persuading him, Fortunato then got anxious to taste the wine. Montresor 's plan was going as it was planned. As they went to the house, monterroso had already sent everyone out. Monterroso then took fortunato downstairs to find the amontillado. At least thats what Fortunato thought was going on. Lets not forget that Fortunato was extremely drunk. As they walked on, they came into a room. This room was a tiny room. It was horrifying. There were skulls everywhere, remains of human body parts on the walls. The second story talks about a man named Fortunato, that felt extremely offended by another man. The third story is about a man missing his love named lenore. They have men that each belive killing, or being tortured resolves the solution. But was being tortured and committing murder really worth it? No, in the end these three narrators end up having regret in their hearts. They all know there actions could have come out
