Montresor's Effect On Fortunado

As the narrator, Montresor explains to an unfamiliar crowd that because Fortunado has mortally insulted him he has promised

to get revenge. However he has concealed his hatred towards Fortunado, Montresor angry at Fortunado so much so he kills him.

Montresor tricked Fortunado into following him through a tunnel to taste some wine called Amontillado. Little did he know he was lead to his death. Everytime Fortunado became suspicious Montresor gave him wine. He chained him to a wall, but he was too arrogant to realize he was being locked up.As Montresor built a wall around him, Fortunado began to laugh. He thought it was a joke even as Montresor put the last brick on the wall to cover him even still he thought it was a joke. Montresor left
