Aylmer produced a chemical that can remove birthmarks, however, there is the slight chance of the consumer dying in the process of removing the chemical. This marks the experiment as a success because Aylmer accomplished his goal but it came with an unexpected side effect which is the death of his wife. If Aylmer continues on going through experiments with his chemical and goes through testing on people who have birthmarks imagine on how many deaths will occur if Aylmer does not find the perfect chemical. This is an extremely unethical experiment because it could cause the lives of multiple people in order to make a chemical to remove birthmarks. When Aylmer develops a chemical that can remove birthmarks it will create a mark in the history of science and beauty. And beauty, he removes the birthmark because he thought it was an imperfection of nature on his perfect wife’s face. Also keep in mind that if Aylmer continues to go through experiments it is only something trivial as in trying to remove a birthmark which could either be a mere mark or a sign of a disease.
