For example, in a communist state all workers get the same pay and that leads to less productivity among the workers. In a socialist government, the people still have mobility between social classes and the opportunity to be promoted in their job field. Even though the businesses are government run, it is with worker control so they are motivated to do more in order to directly reap the benefits. However, it also guarantees that those who cannot provide for themselves such as orphans, elderly, disabled etc.. are not left behind. Socialism does not concern itself with the culture of its people while democracy excessively involves itself. The government is in charge of maintaining order and so it is their job to protect it’s citizens by creating laws that stop discrimination. History has a way of showing that certain groups of people will try to gain power by eliminating other groups and that disregards the socialist government when laws are ignored. However, the government does not need to waste its resources dictating how people should live. A key failure in democracy is that the majority rules so in nations such as the United States, where the majority is christians, the laws allow for other groups of people to be denied their freedoms based on the fact that it does not follow the Bible. Democracy allows for individual freedoms such as religion, speech, assembly etc.. John Locke (the father of liberalism) though that people should do as they want as long as it does not bring harm to others. However his philosophy was based on ideal mutual love between all people and does not take into account that people are capable of immorality.
