I can trust the gospels because they are written by eyewitnesses, in which there is archeological evidence and the gospels are a fulfillment of Prophecy’s told in the Old Testament. Jesus came into a world that was oppressed and according to Dickinson there is not much history outside of the gospels written about Jesus. A first century Jewish historian born in AD 37 named Josephus, wrote about Jesus, however, if it were not for the writings of the four books put together in the Gospels, we would not have the many accounts of Jesus.
